Biography of Executive Director/Artistic DirectorIrina Roizin is a prominent member of the Brooklyn arts community. She has served on the Board of the Shorefront Y and is an active community member of Brooklyn Board 13. In 2005, Marty Markowitz presented Irina with an award as one of the most powerful women in Brooklyn. She has received several other awards and citations for community service and for her work in the arts. Other recognition includes exhibits about Irina and the Brighton Ballet Theater Company at the Jewish Museum and the Brooklyn Historical Society. Irina Roizin founded Brighton Ballet Theater Company, formerly known as Russian American Ballet Company, in 1991.
